You may be familiar with famous Baskin-Robbins for its ice cream. If you go to the mall in Japan, you will often find it too but in Japan, not many call the store Baskin Robbins. Instead we call the store "Thirty One". Don't be surprised if you are hanging out with your friends in Japan and they say "let's go to thirty one ice cream".
What are the flavors in Japan?
I must say not all the stores have thirty one flavors and some have more flavors. Depends on the season, flavor changes and you can also get ice cream cake as well. There are special events day when you can get two scoops of ice cream for one.
Interestingly, there are no other ice cream shop that are all over the place like Baskin Robins in Japan. You can now get Ben & Jerry's in Omotesando, Blue Seal ice creams in Okinawa but if you want ice cream to go Baskin Robin is most likely around the corner.
My favorite flavor of the all time is melon flavor but one of the most popular flavor is called Popping Shower with cider bits inside the ice cream. What's your favorite?
