Living in South East Asia, when I hear the word "Chiken Rice" I imagine boilled chicken, rice cooked in chicken broth,black sauce,ginger, and chili sauce. I have had chicken rice since I was elementary school and I still get excited when I find great South Asian style chicken rice.
When you picture chicken rice , what do you imagine?
If you order chicken rice in Japan, totally different dish would be served. In Japan, chicken rice would be ketchup flavored with diced chicken. It is almost like a fried rice or rice inside the omlet. Where can you get it? You can find it in the old-fashioned cafe that serves Napolitan spaghetti.
I find it quite interesting that what you are used to and what you may be served may be different in other countries.
